Nice presentation, but under my expectation. There are many missing muscle pin points. Work-outs are ok. Besides that, system drops frequently in my Mac Pro OS10.7 an up date should be developed.

I wish I had this more than 20 years ago when in nursing school.
This is obviously not an app written for the Mac. It is an extremely lazy port from the iPad. It does not take advantage of a desktop computers features and advantages. Here is my take: Pros: Main window can be expanded to take partial advantage of screen real estate. More than one (two) windows. Cons: - The layout does not take advantage of the larger screen size. Although there is a second window, it can not be resized - and it is small. During workouts the window is used to show sets and toggle with previous best. But since it cant be expanded, even just four sets requires a scroll bar. - Drop down menus in the windows are miniscule, showing only three choices at a time. This makes it extremely difficult to choose another option. There is absolutely no reason for this to be this way. There is room, even in this small window, to show over a dozen choices. - The app doesnt use the normal menus. There are only two options: the "iMuscle" (with the normal hide and quit options) menu and "Window" (which allows you to choose between the two windows. There are no choices to select the different features of the app. - Importing workouts from the iPad is buggy. It took a couple of attempts to get the correct workout to import. The first time a bizarre combination of exercises was imported. If you own the iPad version, unless you need a larger main window view, dont bother buying this version.
This is not a good App for physical therapists, exercise scientists, or higher educated weightlifters. Too many basic exercises. There are not enough dynamic exercises or stretches. Some important muscle groups are left out, like the Rhomboids. I would prefer my money back! I will not make use of this App
when i click on some of the stretches to open them up into main window they will not load!
Excellent application. Easy to use graphical user interface. Deserves all the stars. But, adding a section talking about how to prevent most common bodybuilding related injuries would make this application one of a kind.
The only problem I have with this app is that it loses my workout log. I record everything but when I go back to look at previous bests or progress there is nothing listed.
It has problems with counting the reps, I dont know why to bother to choose the number of the reps when anyway it continues to repeat forever!! And when I make a list of my favorites it doesnt follow my workout plan and continues to repeat only one of them! And also I cant load some of the stretches. Otherwise its a nice app and if these problems get fixed Ill give it the two other stars.
I feel like I spent $7 dollars (I have the mobile app) for my own personal trainer. I can select a muscle and see plenty of properly performed exercises and stretches. I feel and see immediate growth in targeted areas. I would like to see them add exercises for all the medicine ball users out there, but this app and its counterpart is highly recommended.
Very pleased with all the apps ive gotten from 3D4 More knowledge for myself and with patients!
I reviewed iMuscle prior to the update and although the review was generally positive, I lamented the absence of certain small muscles that are relevant to weight lifting. They are here as is so much more. The appearance of the model is cleaner and smoother. The rotation and zooming features are intuitive. The appearance of the program itself is polished and the lists of exercises will satisfy the novice and the experienced. Personal measurements and progress trackers are included. I dont use the social media features, but they are present for the interested. My only request (not really a complaint) would be the addition of trackpad pinch to zoom capability to a future version. I would also like a section labeling the muscular origins and insertions. The body mechanics of individual muscles is easier to follow when so labeled, I think. Overall, the program is great and the developers responsiveness is evident. Who is this for: workout enthusiasts, both novice and advanced, for ease of use and customization capability. Who is this not for: someone looking for comprehensive anatomy including nerves and bony attachments. 3D 4 Medical offers separate programs for these.
I rerally thought this program was really going to dissapiont, since all others have been cheesy. One I turned it on though, I was really blown away by the creativeness and the detail that was put into this program. I would really recommend it to any one of my friends or family members.
The overall features of this application is good. However, the sync options for iCloud is pretty much totally manual. Considering that I have this app on my iPhone, iPad and Mac this is not something I should have to work at. It should be a fully automatic process. The developer needs to do a better job seemlessly syncing. If that happens I will revise my review. Because of the syncing issues I cannot recommend this program highly for someone who uses more than one device.
I bought the latest version for my notebook, which you dont need. The, I bought another for my iPhone , cause thats what u bring to gym. It is such a great idea and workouts are great. BUT, it rarely works on my iPhone . It closes out all the time. I have not been able to use it 90 % of the time. The customer service told me to reload it. I tried over and over. Just not compatible with my iPhone. Plenty others out there that work great. I hope they fix it but i cant wait. I missed too much time trying to get it to work.
Being somewhat new to bodybuilding in my exercise routines, I have found that this program is exceptional in that it provides an opportunity to go through for instance if I am creating a workout for arms I can use the 3d model to select specific exercises that will work out each individual muscle allowing me the ability to make sure that my arm workout is all inclusive without missing a single muscle. I think this is awesome if you want to see more growth and definition in a specific muscle line in your physique locate that muscle on the 3d model and implement a bunch of exercises that will improve that specific muscle very powerful tool beautiful graphics user friendly great example clips to display proper workout motion 5 stars from me.
This truly is the best workout app available! Having the ability to use the 3D model to select muscles is outstanding. Its a great way to learn about your muscles too. The animations are extremely helpful too in that they explain how to perform each exercise. Ive used many workout apps in the past, but this one has to be the best. I have recommended to all my family and friends.
it’s beautiful to look at and the explanations and visual references for the exercises are clear. However, I was interested in their preset weightlifting workouts to diversify my existing routine. A KEY missing ingredient: you cannot specify what equipment is involved in the chosen exercises. My apartment buiding has a small gym with dumbbells and a bench but not barbells or some of the machines listed. I wish I could have the app create a full-body workout routine for me using all the equipment at my disposal. I do believe there is at least one routine that’s designed for bodyweight only exercises, but that’s not what I’m looking for either.
This is a really good application, I`ve made a lot of progress whilst working with it! I think that there are so few things to complain about, which is good! I really appreciate this app.
Good app, but I am missing the overall calories, strength overview… Also it would be great if there were some game-center compatibility to challenge some friends… Filtering the equipment - would be better if you could select a couple of options, not just one, when you create your own exercises… Also an assesment whether it would be a difficult or easy would be nice... Last but not least I miss the sync of data with iPhone/Ipad app… p.s. really hate it what I have to reset the LB/KG measurments all the time… would be nice if it would be on a system scale...
Loved the concept and the body animations, but the archaic UI and bugs bring it down. Trying to create a workout and it crashes; opening an exercise - it crashes etc. No seamless iCloud sync. No true satisfaction in the end.
